Coronovires, 1113killed

Beijing: The number of people who died of coronavirus in China has increased to 1,113, while the number of confirmed cases has also increased to 44,653. The Chinese administration gave this information on Wednesday. China's National Health Commission reported that 31 new provincial-level areas and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported Tuesday of confirmed new cases of coronavirus infection and 97 deaths on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

Xinhua quoted the National Health Commission of China as saying that there were 94 deaths in Hubei province and one each in Henan, Hunan and Chongqing. The commission said that 3,342 new suspicious cases were reported on Tuesday. On Tuesday, 871 patients fell seriously ill and 744 people were discharged from hospital after recovering.

The commission said that the condition of 8,204 patients remains critical and 16,067 people are suspected to be infected with the virus. A total of 4,740 people have been discharged from the hospital after recovering. The commission said 4,51,462 people have been reported to be in close contact with coronavirus victims, 30,068 of them have been discharged from medical surveillance on Tuesday, while 1,85,037 others are still under medical surveillance.

As of late Tuesday, 49 cases, including one death, were confirmed in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), while 10 cases were confirmed in Macau SAR and 18 in Taiwan. One patient each in Macau and Taiwan has been discharged from hospital after recovery.
