The state government has taken seriously the incident of mob lynching of three people including two sadhus in Palghar, Maharashtra. According to the news agency ANI, 110 people were arrested after registering an FIR in the case. Of these, 101 people out of 110 have been sent to police custody till 30 April while the minors have been sent to the Juvenile Center Home.
On Sunday evening on behalf of the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office, it was said that action has been taken on the Palghar incident and the police have arrested two accused, mob lynching of a driver and all the accused who attacked the policemen.
Maharashtra government ordered a high-level inquiry
The state government has ordered a high-level inquiry into the case of three people being beaten to death by a mob on Thursday night in Palghar district of Maharashtra. State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh gave this information on Sunday. Deshmukh has also warned not to give any communal color to this incident as two people are being described as sadhus among the three dead.
Deshmukh tweeted, "Police have detained 101 people involved in the murder of three people going to Surat in Palghar." I have ordered a high-level inquiry into the murder. "Deshmukh said that the police is keeping a close watch on people who want to create disharmony in the society through this incident. Deshmukh said, "The people who were killed and attacked in the Palghar incident were not from different religions." Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter. .
What is the whole lynching case of Palghar
In fact, two sadhus and a driver were lobbed at Palghar in Maharashtra by about 200 people late Thursday night. Police said on this incident last Friday that this is the second such incident in three days. According to the police, the mob lynched both the monk and his driver sitting in the eco van as thieves. Assistant Police Inspector Anandrao Kale of Casa Police Station said that the van was coming from Nashik when an angry mob stopped near Gadhichanchale village on Dadhadi-Khanvel road.
Kale said that Mobb first stopped the van and asked questions and then pulled over and started beating them. The driver somehow called the police and the team reached the spot. Anand Rao Kale said- There were a large number of people in the mob and we tried to save the sadhus and drivers but the mob attacked us too and started throwing stones. The result of which was that the three died there due to beating. The deceased have been identified as Sushil Giri Maharaj (35), Chicane Maharaj Kalpavrukshgiri and driver Nilesh Telgade.
The Akhada Council strongly condemned the Palghar incident
Mahant Narendra Giri, president of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, on Sunday strongly condemned the incident of the beating of two saints of Juna Arena in Palghar district of Maharashtra. Also, the saints and saints of all the 13 akharas have requested that if a saint - Mahatma is Brahmalin during lockdown, do not go to his samadhi. Mahant Narendra Giri said that these saints were going to attend the tomb of Mahatma, a saint and he should also go, but he did not know that he should have taken prior permission from the administration for this in lockdown.
Former CM Devendra Fadnavis demanded strict action
On the other hand, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also demanded strict action against those accused of murder. Fadnavis tweeted, saying - The video of mob lynching incident in Palghar is shocking and inhuman. Such an incident is even more disturbing at the time of such calamity. He further wrote that I request the state government to conduct a high-level inquiry into the matter and take strict action against those who are guilty.
