USA request for HCQ

Demand for hydroxychloroquine, a malaria drug believed to be effective in the treatment of coronavirus patients, has increased in many countries of the world. India is the largest manufacturer and exporter of this medicine. That's why most countries have demanded India for this medicine. India has delivered this medicine to about 20 countries. A list of 13 countries has been released by India on Friday as well. India will send millions of tablets of hydroxychloroquine tablets to these countries. 45 more countries have demanded medicine from India.

News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that India on Friday finalized the list of 13 countries to be dispatched with hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) tablets.According to the information, the US had demanded 48 lakh tablets of hydroxychloroquine medicine from India. But India is sending only 35.82 lakh tablets there.

Along with this, 9 metric tons of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) are also being sent to India from the US. India will also send about 5 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine medicine to Brazil and Canada. But it will go to the second batch. In the first batch, only 0.53 MT API will be sent to Brazil.

India has enough stocks

Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Luv Agarwal said that India has a stock of 3.28 crore tablets of hydroxychloroquine which is more than three times the estimated requirement of 10 million tablets for the country in the coming week. Apart from this, arrangements have been made to supply an additional 2 to 3 crore tablets for future needs. He said, 'Based on the estimated need, we need 10 million tablets in the coming week. Whereas today we have 3.28 crore tablets. That is why we have to supply medicine three times more than our domestic requirement.

According to new figures, 1 lakh 90 people have been killed due to corona virus infection. According to statistics, about 16 lakh 38 thousand and 216 infection cases have been reported.
